Shannon Rousseau joins the cast as a lead actor in the film titled "When We Sleep". This feature-length film will be shot in and around the Kansas City area throughout 2026. "When We Sleep" is produced by Cintrellium (cintrellium.com) and is written and directed by Nathaniel Thomas.
"When We Sleep" is the story of a woman (Minny) who is taken into the shadows by a growing dark force. Her husband and friends, struggling to cope with their loss, must each make a choice that will affect her destiny and their own.
Shannon Rousseau is a non-linear actor known for bringing unexpected depth and fresh perspective to every role. With more than a decade of training at studios in Dallas, New York City, and Kansas City, she’s appeared in film, television, and theatre — starring in short films like The Night in Gayle and There’s a Hit on You, Lucy, appearing in the Amazon Prime series County Rescue, and now making her feature film debut in When We Sleep. On stage, she earned a Best Local Actor nomination in The Kansas City Pitch for her role in Sticks & Stones and will return to the stage in 2026 for Reduction in Force at Charlotte Street Foundation. A former broadcast journalist with a media arts degree from the University of North Texas, Shannon brings a lifelong love of storytelling to every performance. She is represented by Johnson Talent Agency (Los Angeles/Dallas) and Exposure Inc. (Kansas City).
Shannon will play Olivia, Leila's wife. She is a fun-loving and caring front of the house receptionist for Leila’s practice. She is organized, detail-oriented, and thorough always thinking three steps ahead -- and she really loves chili.
